upward moving

It’s been thirty years, since you burried me with your freak
But I finally said, I no more wanna be sick
How cruel and savage have you been with your little daughter
Who the hell gave you the right to slaughter her just for you to feel better

Now time has come for you to suffer
For the rest of your life is going to be bitter
By parting from you, I’ve come to an end
With dissociation and all that made me insane

God was on my side, when you raped me so hard
He sustained me intensly, waiting the moment to give me the award
So here it is now, I’m being back to life this time for good
Rushing again towards myself, now that I have understood
That the guilt is yours, it has never been mine,
You incestuous father, covered by the blood of your crime

I hope you feel at ease in hell
Now that I’m giving you back your jail
Guess I’m gonna find love at least
Me that God has ever blissed

Gran Torino or grand film ?

I saw the film last saturday. So I saw Gran Torino last saturday. I mainly wanted to see that film beacuse it was a way of listen to this beautiful language, I like so much : American. It didn't know at all what the film dealt with, but Clint Eastwood is a reference.

Ouch ! What a film ! I has the idea it was a film dealing with primal violence, something like a man getting fed up with being teased by a gang and finally shooting its members to recover peace in the neighbourhood.

But I was totally wrong. No, it's all about true faith and doubts about believing...
..it's about non violence, true justice, giving its life for a good (God ?) cause.

...it's about racism and conversion of the heart, caregiving and loving those Walt coudn't stand before because of his own injuries from war.

...It's about thinking to do the right thing... And you, for those who saw the film, what would you have done ?

It's about all that. It turns you upside down ! I won't tell you more, for you to rush the cinema. Go, you won't be desappointed. It's full of suspense and you will laugh too.

Thank you M. Eastwood. Here is a Grand film ! The one you need, when you slip down slowly and insidiously towards hate of the others...

By the way, did you know that the Gran Torino was the famous car of Starsky & Hutch repainted ?

Well, enough talking for today. Enjoy this sunday,

The stroy that tells you who you are...

A few years ago I used to read several books of Paul Auster. It's always a little bit strange. Sometimes you wonder if that guy is OK in his head, and finally when you think back of the story once you've finished it, you discover all the depth of it. You had not realized it was talking about you and sometimes, an insight, it all becomes very clear.

It just finished yesterday the second story of the New York Trilogy and this is really a masterpiece. For it helps you discover who you are by introducing you into a introspection of you self as you turn the pages...

I wonder if Auster did a psychotherapy. This story makes me think that he did and he may have written this story afterwards. For if you look carefully at it, this story is simply a metaphore of a psychoanalysis. White is keeping an eye on Black, this is his job, he's a detective. And slowly, a lot of questions rise in his head about who he is, he, who is overlooking every minute somebody else. After quite a long time, White gets in touch with Black, talk to him and slowly gets lost. He doesn't understand no more if this is he who is overlooking Black or the contrary, is he overlooked by Black ? From now on the two of them cannot live both. There is one spare man in this story and one must die. A struggle for life takes place and the one who should be killed finally kills the other. The survivor can continue his life again and the story won't tell where this new life takes place... End of story !

This story really made me think of a therapy. The introspection finally lets you discover that someone you don't know lives in you and slowly but firmly you learn to know who is this other spying you inside. There must be an end to it and the patient makes some choices : not be directed no more by this or that : this is the struggle and nobody can say who's going to win ! After the fight comes the end of the therapy and the subject takes a new start in life...

Brilliant, M. Auster, really !

Mental burn out

Why do you endlessly throw out words that burns like fire ?
Wouldn’t it be better if you could admire
Those who try to love you always stronger
Are you so afraid of what seems to you stranger ?

Double binds seems your only way of behaviour
Aren’t you aware of how much you get people in danger ?
Danger of dying by suffering of guilty deeper and deeper
Escaping in your morbid world has always been for you safer

How long have I searched for a way to touch you
But whatever I do, you always get through
My heart has tried to become a stone not to be torn in two
But I can never avoid your bombshells even in view

The thing is, I’m just fed up with your meanness, that’s true
How long am I going to keep on hanging on you
I guess it won’t last long now because I’m blue
and I don’t owe you nothing, I know this too

The look of Love

Should have left you standing right where you stood
Should have let you go, should have had the sense to know
Like a train you'd come, and I'd lose my place
Now I'm on this trip, I took a fall from grace

Chorus:

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
From the look of love, from the eyes of pride
Nowhere to go, no place to run
From the look of love, now I've come undone

I've had a map laid out from the day I was born
But the roads are blocked, and the paper is worn
And all the books I've read, and the things I know
Never taught me to laugh, never taught to let go

(chorus)

My conscience is clear I know right from wrong
That's a lie I know nothing except that you're gone
But there's more to learn from the look in your eyes
That trip round this world, the stars in the sky

Now all the books I've read, and the things I know
Never taught me to live, never taught me to let go

(chorus)

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
From the look of love, Lord knows I've tried
Nowhere to go, no place to run
From the look of love, now I've come undone

[Nowhere to hide]
[No place to run]
[Nowhere to hide]
[No place to run]

Another song I wanted to share with you... From that time were Live was so good for Madonna. This video comes from the live of the "Who's that girl tour" and the song from the so-called album.

I like this song, don't really know why. It's quite ambiguous, hard to interprete. But it reminds me of all the walls I had to break to live my own life. Push girl, push all those walls preventing you to see the sun and the path of your own life! Who's got the look of love? God, for me yes. So yes "Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide From the look of love".

Well, dont' know what you think about it. As for me, it sounds like I found a great tool to push those walls off my life and it's great !

Enjoy the video ! Such a long time I hadn't post about Madonna ! Sorry for those who are not fans !

Have a grat week,

Géraldine

Challenging.... L'échange

Plus d'infos sur ce film

I went to the movies tonight, and I've been very moved by this film. Of course , a Clint Eastwood movie is a good signature, but I have to admit it's really well done. The fact that this story is true adds to the way you feel it of course.

This film moved me probably cause it's about a rap of child, more, about murder of children and serial killer. It's about a time we don't know no more, I hope, because the way human beings were treated at that time is psychiatric hospitals is terrifying. It's also about a fight for justice, coming from a mother, a women. As you can see, M. Eastwood put together lots of ingredients that lead to a special film.

That was also the first movie I saw with Angelina Jolie. That woman wears her name very well. "jolie" means pretty in french and she's a "jolie femme" in that film. Pretty of course, but also courageous, enraged if I can say, to recover her son and make things change for more justice. What a women ! At that time it was far more difficult to be courageous for a women than today, but the loss of one's son makes a woman change, because she's lost all she had. That's what Mrs Collins (the character of Angelina Jolie) says once in the movie : "they (the police) have nothing" to scare her anymore. She's ready to go ahead till the end.

That film made me also think that Americans are changing. Setptember 11 must be the biggest element of that change, but probably the politics they've had for the last years too. Fed up with politics... Fed up with those movies where their country was the country of the good ones. In this movie, the political and police institutions are described as corrputed. And if there is a policman to go ahead trying to find the thruth alone, he's not filmed as a hero, as he may have been before spetember 11. I'm terribly sad of course of what happened that day, but I'm glad to see this change of point of view from Americans. I'm glad movies like this can be successful, that describe things as they are : some beautiful (that women, fighting for justice, helped by this pastor and the policeman dooing its best to discover truth), some ugly (the political and police corruption). I guess anyone can find the same in its own counrty. It seems to be inherent to every society : some are good, some are bad, and its courageous to put it on screens.

Thus, thank you M. Eastwood to have the courage to deal with such a subject, thak you M. and Mrs the actors to hold the film the way you do !

A last word : rush to that movie but keep children off the screen, I'm not sure they would understand the reactions of that mother, nor the behavior of the "false son"...

What pics can inspire !

According to you, what's in her mind ?

1/ I'm giving a f****** performance tonight

2/ With this financial crash, I'm losing money and how am I gonna survive ?

3/ I'm definitly getting older, and time has come for me to do something else that jumping like I do every night in the show

Ok, it's quite naughty, but Madonna has self humour, I hope. Well, all that to say that I prefer so much the two pics beneath, where I've hardy seen her so beautiful.

Heartache

Here it comes again and again
This darkness trying to get me insane
At day I faint to be OK
But when I come back home
Once more I feel so alone

The pain hangs up on me
And give me no rest til I’ve cried so bitterly
In those moments I say life is a bitch
Cause I've been buried too many times by all that shit

So I come back to the place I know I can find You
And I whisper, shout at your Face all the despair I am through
I can feel You hear me and take all my pain
You against whom the devil is vain

all upside down am I here again
at least alive but not knowing where I am
I fall asleep, all the questions have quit
Tomorrow will be another day
Time for me to take the road again looking far away

Revenge : an hymn to forgiveness

OK, I'm sorry, I guess you're going to have posts from myelf dealing with M discovery subject for a few weeks. I apologize toward those who don't share the same taste for Madonna as me.

I'm listening quite a lot to the "Queen of Pop" nowadays and roaming on YouTube I found an unrealeased demo that I'd like to share with you : Revenge. First of all because I like the music a lot but also because I checked the lyrics on this site and those lyrics sound so true that I wanted to share them with you. Read them beneath the video and tell me what they inspire you. Listening to this beautiful song, I was thinking back of all the gossip about her nowadays. This could be a response to them, a response full of poetry and wisdom.

Enjoy !

Revenge
(unreleased demo)
written by Madonna and Rick Nowels
Time: 3:40
----------
There is no such thing as revenge
You will not give as good as you got
There is no such thing as an eye for an eye
If you think you're the giver, you're not

There is no such thing as regret
There is no point in placing the blame
Hate destroys the one who hates
And everyone suffers the same

Chorus:

What you see
Is not necessarily what you get
Eyes are the window to the soul
Take your judgments
And let them go

There is only love and respect
To thine own self be true
When you point the finger
There are three fingers pointing back at you

(chorus)

Let them go
Let them go
Let them go

Recognize that God is alive in everyone
Recognize that love lives in us all

(chorus)

Let them go
Let them go
Let them go

(chorus)

Let them go
Let them go
Let them go

into the wild

Into the wild
. If you still haven't seen this film and if you look for a film that will get you into beautiful landscapes and deep existential thoughts, then go right away on the internet to find a cinema that plays it.

I've been waited long before finding an occasion to see it. It was last friday. I didn't know nothing about the film, except that it had been shot by Sean Penn, Whom I saw a few weeks ago 21 grams, and that I would feel far away from home with the shots of the wild landscapes.

Well, I've not been disppointed by these. By I did'nt know what was the plot. And had not imagined it would involve me into such existential thoughts and questions.

Into the wild is the story of a young adult just graduated, Christopher Mac Candless. He comes from a wealthy family whose money he can't bear no more. One of the first scene of the film takes place in a restaurant, where Chistopher quarrels with his parents about a new car they want to buy him.

Finally, Christopher decides to leave everything. Putting his rucksack into his old car, he starts driving. At the end of the first day he finds a car stop besides the road, but the car gets flooded during the night and force him to continue the way by foot. The adventure begins. Christopher gets mad with freedom, bruns the last notes he had and starts meeting people roaming like him and working from time to time to earn the little money he needs. At that time of the film, Christopher seems unaware of the danger and succeeds in everything. Comes then the time when he goes alone in Alaska. He finds a strange old bus abandoned in the wild and settles in it.

He starts then to hunt and fish to survive. He's reached his goal. Living alone freely and aimlessly into the wild. Apart from hunting, fishing, and making the most of the wild, he reads some philosophical books it took with him. That's his way to try to find himself. Because, for sure, the search of himself is the real goal of his trip. His struggles to stay alive and one day realise at least that life becomes real only when shared. From that event he wants to make his way back to humanity. But he needs for that to cross a river and at that time of the year, the river is too big to be crossed. He stands in front of it searching how to cross it, but the sudden consciousness he made has awakened him. He gets aware of the danger now and don't dare trying to cross the river. For the first time, it seems that he's aware he could die. Coming back to his old bus, beginning to starve, because there's few fishes and animals at that time of the year, he starts looking for berrys and eat some avidly. The following day, he wakes up ill. Taking a book explinaining which berry is eatable or not, he gets suddenly aware of something new : he lost ! He's going to die alone. This lonely he sought so far away, for such a long time, is going to kill him ! Becoming terribly weak, he goes on struggling for life, but finally gets totally paralised and die by looking at the blue sky, alone.

Here is the story of Christopher Mac Candless, as I saw it. It got me to thing about loneliness and sharing in our lifes, about searching for a sense in life, about the use of our world full of electronic thingamajigs that prevent us from sharing one with another. It also made me think of the different steps I have already taken in life : Adolescence, where you feel like being invicible, and then adulthood, where you become bitterly aware of all your limits growing from day to day.

Here it is for the film. Thank you M. Sean Penn to grant our eyes with such beautiful landscapes and our mind with such deep toughts.

Now, what do you think? Are you gonna rush to the film?

Enjoy that sunday !

I am because we are

I know you may be fed up with me talking too much of Madonna on that blog, since a few weeks. but that woman has some interesting messages to share. And I can't prevent myself from suggesting you to listen to that interview about her film I am because we are.

Here are a few words from Madonna, taken from this interview :

I often feel that we’re the one that have it wrong. In spite of all the devastation they have a sense of community and extended family that I haven’t seen anywhere else.

I don’t have that joy and I don’t have this kind of appreciation. I do in moments but not on a regular basis. I think that comes from really living in the moment without a lot of distractions, which we have so many of. And not knowing if the next day is going to come . I think complaining, feeling sorry for yourself, being bored, those are luxuries people in Malawi can’t afford.

Well, it makes me think back of all the sadness we see on people's faces in the streets or in cars. This morning, when I took up my car to go to work, I saw a man next to me, sad and irritated because there was a small jam. On his car, on could see "Je roule au naturel" (I drive green), and I added to myself "ben ouais, mais t'es pas détendu" (for sure, but you'd better be more cool with life).

What Madonna says is true and could be summed up this way :"the more we get, the less you are". When will we understand, that more important than all the technical stuff proposed every where in our countries, is the ability to smile to someone you cross in the street, to try to drive or behave with respect to one another?

OK, I'm not gonna tell you I'm a saint. I'm not. I sometimes get mad when people lack of repsect for myself. And it's only because I'm so much fed up with living with those strange people environning me and behavoring as if we were not alike. What does brotherhood mean in our world? If you got a problem, people try to f*** you more as those awful birds flying around corpses. Couldn't we change and try to be more human ?

OK, enough for today. But think about what Madonna said. If we paid more attention ot one another, we probably would feel less alone and depressed.

Enjoy the rest of the day. Here, in the south of France, bad weather, between wind and rain !

COLD CASE and Kathryn MORRIS

Nearly every monday evening after being back from my Yoseikan lesson, I can't find the courage of getting back to my psychology books and finally fall down in my armchair and don't move until the last show of Cold Case is over.

And every monday at the end of the last show, I tell myself I've got to go to the net to look a little bit more who's acting the character of Lili Rush. I finally did it a few days ago. Interesting. The most suprising maybe is that Kathryn Morris, the actress playing Lili Rush spends all her time smiling to people interviewing her or to the cameras. Suprising because the character of Lili Rush seldom smiles.

Well, going through my investigations, I found a quote of Kathryn Morris, I want to share with you :
"Don’t fall in love with someone’s potential. You need to love them for who they are today. Don’t go in for ‘remodeling' ".

What do you think about it? Let's comment... and I'll give you my opinion.

Thanks Kathryn for all the good time spent looking at Cold case !

Yesterday I followed in second part of evening the “Infrarouge” braodcast, devoted - if one can say - to the phenomenon taboo of the female paedophilia.

And I wished to write this post to inform on this taboo subject. Yes, it is unimaginable taht a mother, a woman can use her own child to appease her own sexual instincts. And yet, that exists.

The most difficult for the victims - apart from the physical, psychic, relational damages - is that this phenomenon is not recognized in France or not enough. Victims, when they deposit a complaint to the police are not taken into consideration, and when they have passed this stage over, the lawsuit often turns to their disadvantage, because they are not believed.

Yesterday evening, the broadcast proposed many testimonies. Among the witnesses, a man, today still unable to dare to engage a relation with a woman, because always taken by the fear generated by the relation dominating (woman)/dominated (him), another man, homosexual, and a woman who seemed to want to erase on her any trace of femininity (shaven head, khaki outfits). But how could it be different ?

While seeing these wounded beings, came back to me the words of judgement or homophobic ones that I sometimes hear. But, how can one judge the other. What do I know from the being in front of me, that gives me the right to label him disadvantagely ? And myself, placed into a similar situation, would I have been as strong as they are today, those who had the courage to testify?

Not, it is a certainty, one cannot judge others!

what do you think on the matter ?

Good weekend nevertheless!

My Church is "formidable" !

This morning, I have been, once again, very astonished by my Formidable Church!
Indeed, I have just learned that a person, who is named with an infinite respect “divorced-remarried” was accepted in a team of pastoral parochial! Isn't my Church formidably tolerating?
Yes, I was delighted by this Good News.
Well, the name intended for these Christians is really stigmatizing, but my Formidable Church is not Christ, it is the Wife of Christ, in way towards Him, therefore… one can understand that she hase not understood everthing yet and is mistaken still per moment in linguistic register… All comes at time when you can wait...
On the other hand, I have been very surpised to learn that my Formidable Church did not authorize this person to celebrate funerals, precisely because it “is divroced-remarried”. Not, really, that it is not possible. Sorry! But, my Formidable Church accepts with a large heart that this person belongs to the team of pastoral and makes even accompaniment… How it is generous my Formidable Church!
This news left me a little lost in my thougths, thus I went to seek in my reference, the Bible, in more precisely, the New Testament, What did Christ day on the subject… Fortunately, the episode of the adulteress (John 8, 1-11) got me back in my shoes… Jesus did not judge this woman and let put her back on the way of her life, releasing her of her own culpability and the human kind's on of her time. Duh, finally, is she so "formidable" my Formidable Church? One has the impression that she understood nothing of the history… Too bad!

Dommage !

Vaste question... essentielle pourtant !

Belle journée !

Géraldine

Yesterday morning I heard on the radio that the French population accounts for 1% of the world population today. a poor small percent… it gives to think, isn't it ?… One feels important and yet…
The expression of Blaise Pascal is quite true : what is a man in the infinite ?
And yet the little that one sums can make much. Mother Teresa said that her work was nothing more than one water drop in the ocean, but a drop which would miss if it did not exist… O how much! Thousands of people can testify to the thirst that she did seal in the hearts and bodies.
And you, which water drop did you bring to our world… or in other words, which stone did you bring to the building? Vast question… essential however!
Have a beautiful day!

Enjoy this lovely day !

Géraldine

in the series “strange questions”, I finally understood why la Canebière in Marseilles was called so. I had thought, in one of my usual imagination sequences (isn't it CL?) that it was a question of a duck(cane) which would have drunk too much beer (bière), but I felt that this explanation was not convincing…Then here is for truth the explanation heard yesterday at the beginning of afternoon on France 3(frnch TV channel) : in the 17th century this “street” was bordered of "duck trees"(I can't translate this. that tree is known to make sugar and alcohol). Therre comes this pretty name. No chance the chronicler did not explain why beer… The mystery perdure thus…

And in the series, “did you have it II? ”, did you know why le palais de Longchamps was built? To celebrate the arrival of water in Marseilles. Indeed, the town of Marseilles missed drinking water a long time, until the building of the channel of Marseilles which brings the water of the Alps under le Palais de Longchamps.

Enjoy this lovely day!

Butterfly... Butter fly?

Yesterday, while getting at work, I was listening to "little star" by the Queen of Pop, - beautiful motherly love song by the way - in which "butterfly" is mentionned.

And suddenly, in the car jams, I asked myself : where does this strange name come from ? I've never seen no butter flying. No way even in my dreams ! I've never seen no butterfly gathering pollen on butter, neither ! So, what ! Could you help me fixing the strange problem? In advance thanks !
Yes, I know I always ask me strange questions ! But this the way my life goes. I can't help this...

Have a good week-end though !

In memory of nine eleven

When all is dark
Come and take my hand

Don’t leave me ruined and racked
I can’t stand the impact

My beloved have gone
I feel so much alone

Now what does living mean ?

Hold me tight You who cares

Will You be supporting me
Not to fall into despair ?

Slowly raise me up again
Help me not to be unfair

Learn me how to forgive them
Make me strong until the end

nine eleven

Today is "le 11 septembre". 6 years ago I remember perfecty well where I was when I learned that the Twin Towers had been destroyed. I was at work and a colleague, just arrived at 4pm (french hour of the event) told us what was happening overseas. I did not believe him at first. He's an easy joker and I said to myself : "What is he saying?" "It is really bad taste to invent such stupid histories". But when I can back to my computer, I searched on the online news and discovered it was not a bad joke at all.

Do you remember when you were at that very moment ?

Let's have a thought or prayer for all the people who died there and those who died from the different consequences of the tragedy (toxic gaz inhalation, ...), their families and relatives.

You, the One

You were here from the beginning
But I didn't know, me, poor little thing.

When I finally truned my face at Your's
I suudenly felt how You were close.

You never judged me
For all my faults
But gave me strength again
To walk back under the rain.

I've had to face tremendous storms
But never did you left me alone.

You are my joy, forever my All
How can You love me, You The Eternal ?

Be my guide on the steps I take
Because without You, for sure I would mistake.
