Enjoy this lovely day !

in the series “strange questions”, I finally understood why la Canebière in Marseilles was called so. I had thought, in one of my usual imagination sequences (isn't it CL?) that it was a question of a duck(cane) which would have drunk too much beer (bière), but I felt that this explanation was not convincing…Then here is for truth the explanation heard yesterday at the beginning of afternoon on France 3(frnch TV channel) : in the 17th century this “street” was bordered of "duck trees"(I can't translate this. that tree is known to make sugar and alcohol). Therre comes this pretty name. No chance the chronicler did not explain why beer… The mystery perdure thus…

And in the series, “did you have it II? ”, did you know why le palais de Longchamps was built? To celebrate the arrival of water in Marseilles. Indeed, the town of Marseilles missed drinking water a long time, until the building of the channel of Marseilles which brings the water of the Alps under le Palais de Longchamps.

Enjoy this lovely day!

Butterfly... Butter fly?

Yesterday, while getting at work, I was listening to "little star" by the Queen of Pop, - beautiful motherly love song by the way - in which "butterfly" is mentionned.

And suddenly, in the car jams, I asked myself : where does this strange name come from ? I've never seen no butter flying. No way even in my dreams ! I've never seen no butterfly gathering pollen on butter, neither ! So, what ! Could you help me fixing the strange problem? In advance thanks !
Yes, I know I always ask me strange questions ! But this the way my life goes. I can't help this...

Have a good week-end though !
